Import external CSS and Javascript files in Lightning Aura Component Vs LWC Component

This post explains how to import external Javascript and CSS files into a custom lighting component. The first section deals with Aura Component, whereas the later sections explains the same for a LWC component.

STEP 1:

Download the CSS and JS files. Upload them as a static resource. For this example, let's pick bootstrap. Get bootstrap v4.5 from https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.5/getting-started/download/ and click the first download button.

Upload the ZIP file as a Static Resource with name 'bootstrap'.

In the meanwhile, let's look at the structure of the zip file on your local machine. This would come in handy when referring the files in your component.

Download Jquery from https://jquery.com/download/ and upload the file as a Static resource with name 'jquery'

STEP 2:

Aura Component

Refer the CSS files and JS files in the Aura Component.

STEP 2:

LWC Component

Refer the CSS and JS files in LWC Component.

Implementing Oauth1.0 from Apex

Implementing Oauth1.0 from Apex involves passing a few parameters in the required format. Apex does support making a Oauth1.0 HTTP callout. Below is a screenshot from Postman, notice that the authorization has a bunch of token's and secret's. Some are optional and we will see below how to pass them through Apex.

Consumer Key - Required

Consumer Secret - Required

Access Token - Optional

Token Secret - Optional

Signature Method - Required, usually it is HMAC-SHA1

Please note that the Access token and the Token Secret are optional, if you do have a token secret then the consumer secret will have that appended with a '&' symbol. For example,

Access Token Required => Consumer-Sercret&Token-Secret

Access Token not required => Consumer-Secret

Note that, every time the endpoint changes (you add new parameter values) you would have to sign it explicitly by calling the signRequest method.

Below is a reusable custom lookup component. The standard lookup component usage is advised, but if you need to bypass the current user's sharing and security or you need more flexibility then use this custom approach. This code is adapted from the above reference.
